Wow! I started off in a dairy farming family and jumped into academia as a math professor. I escaped from the cohort of worst jobs into the privileged haven of the best. (At least my brother the dairyman has it better than lumberjacks.)
I did a stint as a construction worker prior to getting my Mathematics degree, so I've seen my share of the bottom. However, I have a hard time believing any job could be worse than Nuclear Decontamination Tech. Now we need the list of top mortalities by occupation.
