John Shimkus: Idiot of the Month

At a U.S. House Subcommittee meeting on the energy and the environment, Representative John Shimkus (R-Illinois) denies global warming because of quotes from Genesis and Matthew.

Words fail me. The inmates are running the asylum.

Did Shimkus indeed deny global warming in that speech? In fact, he didn't.
All he said was that the world will not be destroyed. A guy could still believe in GW, but he would say "don't worry, the world is in Good Hands."

In other words, your words "denies global warming because of quotes from Genesis" is erroneous.

In fact, he is, that was the whole fucking point, and therefore my words are accurate. What some hypothetical person could hypothetically believe based on no evidence is irrelevant, and you should stop trying to make aguments on that basis.

Lol I say if were gonna throw our lot in with that logic we should think the same thing about nuclear warheads and nuclear power plants.. well you know. god wont let it happen sooo we should be alright to use whatever we want regardless of how much danger it puts us in or how much it will make us suffer.

Right on Strife. But they never pull that "trust God" nonsense with anything they understand. They only pull it with things they don't understand and don't want to accept. In other words, they don't really believe it themselves.
