If the Democrats screw everything up royally, I sure hope it does. Better yet, maybe the Republicans will see the light and dump that Alaskan ball-and-chain, quit worrying so much about abortion and drugs, and get back to being a rational free market, small government party. America needs that.ScienceAvengerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00855046387193200080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3498725671447004370.post-28608039439373545942009-01-29T21:15:00.000-06:002009-01-29T21:15:00.000-06:00"It is also worth considering that a lot of anti-R..."It is also worth considering that a lot of anti-Republicanism has grown from the last 8 years, so it is safe to assume some of that blue is not so much pro-Democrat as it is anti-Republican."

Looking forward to seeing the blue-red map in 4 years. Wonderin' if it'll be flipped.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3498725671447004370.post-12749145115599924522009-01-29T12:03:00.000-06:002009-01-29T12:03:00.000-06:00Luke, I had the same reaction. Once you look at t...Luke, I had the same reaction. Once you look at the details though: adults vs likely voters in particular, it becomes a bit more believable. There is a reason groups like ACORN are so derided by the Right: the bulk of nonvoting adults tend to side with the Democrats. This is why Republicans tend to do better when turnout is low, and Democrats do better when turnout is high.

TigerHunter, I don't have a link, but if I had to bet I'd say it came from Nate at 538. As for you Limbaugh parrot's assertion, you can look here if you want to see the demographic breakdown of the votes. Obama won the vote among all non-whites and all age groups below 65. It's pretty easy to see that if his race did anything, it turned off old whites. After all, Democratic candidates typically get the overwhelming proportion of the black vote. I'd say your parrot hasn't an evidenciary leg to stand on.ScienceAvengerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00855046387193200080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3498725671447004370.post-27027891681123922662009-01-29T10:31:00.000-06:002009-01-29T10:31:00.000-06:00Would you mind linking to the estimates regarding ...Would you mind linking to the estimates regarding Obama's skin color damaging his chances? It'll come in handy the next time a Limbaugh fan parrots back the talking point about how being black was the sole reason he one.Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05033037481355303809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3498725671447004370.post-56728949631628588832009-01-29T09:13:00.000-06:002009-01-29T09:13:00.000-06:00Tennessee solid Democrat?! Call me skeptical. I'll have to look up the survey later and see if I believe it.Luke H.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17526959547500069166noreply@blogger.com
